Marisa was born and raised in Mexico City. She studied Veterinary Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. After graduation she spent 15 years as a Veterinarian, working in Mexico, Nicaragua, New Zealand and Australia.

Before attending university, Marisa worked as a volunteer, teaching literacy to adults living in small, poor, rural Mexican villages. She discovered that many of the elders in these villages used herbs and traditional remedies for addressing health issues, in an environment which often lacked access to conventional mainstream medicine. It was apparent that these traditional methods were very effective in the healing process. Marisa became interested in human health issues, and holistic ways of healing as well.

After have been working at an acupuncture clinic in Mexico City, she became interested in Chinese Medicine. While still at university she attended a 2 week workshop on veterinary acupuncture. She decided to come to Canada in 2008 and study Traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated in 2014 from her diploma in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, from Pacific Rim College.

Marisa finds Traditional Chinese Medicine as one of the most complete methods of healing. It combines acupuncture, massage, herbs, cupping, gua sha (skin scrapping), food therapy and lifestyle advice.

On May 2019, Marisa became a Certified Qi Beauty Practitioner. A technique for face and neck lifting through the use of micro-magnets to bring vitality and nourishment to the skin and subcutaneous tissues reducing aging marks.

🙏 Hello everyone, my name is Melanie Branton, and I love all things healing.

I am originally from NL, and completed my 2200 hr massage therapy program from Eastern College in St. John’s in 2012.

I worked over the years as an RMT in NL, ON and now BC, and I have lived and worked here for 3 years. I really love the west coast lifestyle and getting to know all of you!

I happily live by the ocean and have befriended the great Pacific, of course!

I have experience different types of atmospheres, from clinical settings with a strong physiotherapy influence, to myofascial release , spa and holistic environments. As well, I feel I have treated almost everything along the way. I don’t have a favourite thing, but really enjoy diversity and just being able to approach unique situations and go with the flow.

My favourite way to approach health and the body, is with an open mind and heart, and I love to draw on all the great working experiences I’ve had from St. John’s, Toronto and Victoria, but also throughout life.

The body awareness gained from being a gymnast, doing yoga, and experiencing great work from all the other fabulous healing forms, has given me a strong sense of direction and ability to appreciate and acknowledge the body.

The universe and nature is a wonderful thing, and becoming more clear, accepting, committed and happy is what I like to see, encourage and inspire. It is what I aim for in my own life. The peace that settles in physically is such a gift.

I love that I have found this gem space, clinic and team and would love to design a treatment, and experience just for you.

I would be grateful to assist you to become more relaxed, comfortable and happy in your own skin.

I also adore animals, love music of many forms and spend lots of time in the ocean. Oh, and I really want to own a horse 🙏♥️
